The Differences between Living Room and Family Room
Some people tend to confuse between a living room and family room. They think that those rooms are the same so they will only have one room that they call a living room and a family room. A living room is different from a family room.
Differences between living room and family rooms lie in the location of the room, the purposes of the room, and the design of the room. You have to know it so that you can decorate it differently. A living room is where you entertain your visitors, it is a place where your visitors will sit and talk. Usually a living room is in the front part of your house, which is why it is also called a front room.
Family room is the place where you gather your visitors in such informal situation. You can watch television, reading books and other activities in the family room. Usually the location of a family room is near the kitchen although it will not be as near as dining room will be to the kitchen. Family room also may have door to your backyard or terrace so your visitors can see your backyard.
